They called it golf because all the other four letter words were taken. But why oh why does it look so easy on the T.V and suddenly become so hard when I pick up an 8 iron. I remember the first time I ever watched a live golf tournament I fell into the trap of ‘ this is an easy game, anyone with half a brain cell can do this’. Little did I know that I was walking into one of mans greatest conundrums - ‘how the hell do you play golf’. Simply put, all you are trying to do is get a little white ball into a hole in the ground, right ? WRONG !
This ’simple’ golf swing is a complex chain of reactions that if not timed perfectly result in shots all over the shop. If you are millimetres out at impact you are yards off line on the course. I went to watch the US at Bethpage this year, those guys hit it GOOD ! They seem to hit the ball the same every time ‘long and straight’. 
If you ever go to the range at a pro event you will notice the same. Funnily enough it actually becomes boring after a while because they are just too good. Come to the range down the road with me and you will see action, unpredictability and I guarantee you won’t take your eye off anyone - unless you have substantial life insurance.

People have always betted on sporting events, going back through the centuries. When people bet, it is always with the intention of winning some amount of money, with people always betting for this reason but also the chance for a bit of thrill as you wait for your results to come in and praying it is the result you want, and with there been plenty of bookmakers and online bookmakers around, there is plenty of chance to have a little flutter on something, especially with the online bookmakers, people don’t even need to leave the comfort of their own home, as all it takes is a click of the mouse to place your bet, it is easier than ever to have a bet on a sporting event.
